TRx 4.0 and VuCore now shipping: one platform for video walls, AV-over-IP and KVM

Video Wall Management Software: TRx 4.0 and VuCore Launch
Data centre operators managing multiple visual display systems face significant complexity when controlling video walls, AV-over-IP networks, and KVM switching from separate platforms. This fragmentation increases operational overhead, training requirements, and the risk of configuration errors across critical infrastructure.
TRx 4.0 delivers unified control through a single web interface, consolidating video wall management, AV-over-IP distribution, and KVM operations into one seamless platform. Built on a clustered architecture with native failover capabilities, TRx 4.0 ensures high availability while reducing the management footprint in demanding data centre environments.
TRx 4.0 and VuCore now shipping: one platform for video walls, AV-over-IP and KVM
VuWall announced on 7 October 2026 that TRx 4.0 and VuCore are shipping. TRx 4.0 runs video walls, AV-over-IP distribution and KVM operations from one web interface, on a new platform that can be clustered for failover.
Both products were first shown at InfoComm in June. TRx is VuWall’s management software for control rooms. Version 4.0 puts video wall management, AV-over-IP and KVM in a single browser-based interface, so an operator drags a source onto a wall, a decoder or a desk and sees it previewed as a live thumbnail. There is no client software to install.
The larger change is underneath. From version 4.0, TRx is hosted and managed by VuCore, a new platform that also runs PAK Dispatcher and gives operators access to websites, dashboards, remote desktop sessions and files. A room that ran on several separate appliances and servers can run on fewer.
What control room management software does
Control room management software is the layer that decides which source appears where. It discovers encoders, cameras, matrices and desktops, lets operators route them to video walls and workstations, saves layouts so a room can be reset in one step, and controls who is allowed to see or touch what.
When video walls, AV-over-IP and KVM are managed separately, each needs its own tool, its own permissions and its own training. TRx 4.0 puts them in one place.
One platform between the sources and the room
What is in TRx 4.0
Sources are organised in user-defined groups and subgroups with no nesting limit. Routing is drag and drop, with filtering and live thumbnails. Layouts and complete routing states can be saved and reapplied, and a carousel cycles through sources in one window with a set dwell time for each.
Streams can be cropped, zoomed, given text overlays and borders, and the settings saved as reusable templates. Batch configuration applies defaults by device type and model, which matters when you commission forty decoders.
Supported sources include VuWall PAK nodes and VuStream encoders, IP cameras, VNC, RTSP and MPEG-TS streams in H.264 and H.265, and streams from Genetec Security Center and Milestone XProtect. On the KVM side TRx handles private mode, USB switching, screen blur and automatic logout after inactivity, and it can present networked PCs as KVM sources.
Access is role-based, with granular rights over video, audio, keyboard and mouse, presets, control panels and scripting. The Enterprise edition adds Active Directory integration for user profiles. Client and server communicate over TLS 1.3.
Hardened by design
TRx 4.0 runs in a lightweight, closed, containerised environment on VuCore. VuWall describes the architecture as a tightly controlled and hardened operating environment intended to reduce system exposure. The closed design is the point: the management layer for a control room should not be a general-purpose server that someone installs other software on.
Integrations
TRx supports G&D ControlCenter-Compact, Digital, IP and IP-XS matrices natively. Plugins for Genetec Security Center and Milestone XProtect let operators control TRx from the video management system they already use. Third-party control systems such as Crestron and AMX can drive TRx through its REST API, which comes with interactive documentation and sample code. Macros, sequences and a Control Panel Designer for ControlVu touch panels cover automation without programming.
VuCore: the platform under TRx
VuCore is an appliance built to host the services a control room runs on. It hosts TRx, PAK Dispatcher, and a set of services: Chromium for websites, dashboards and PDF files, PNG and JPEG images, and remote desktop sessions.

What is not in the announcement
VuWall has not published pricing, licensing terms, lead times or upgrade terms for existing TRx customers. The TRx datasheet lists the Genetec and Milestone plugin, VNC sources, encrypted screen and audio capture, and Main Wall Control as sold separately. The datasheet states no system requirements for the browser or the network.
VuCore has limits to design around. Hosted services carry no audio, remote desktop sessions need Windows 10 or newer, and stream capacity depends on the model and on whether TRx and PAK Dispatcher share the unit. The datasheet’s capacity table is laid out ambiguously, so we size each room against VuWall’s confirmed figures rather than quoting a number here.
Frequently asked questions
What is VuWall TRx 4.0?
TRx 4.0 is the latest version of VuWall’s web-based control room management software. It manages multiple video walls, AV-over-IP distribution and KVM operations from one interface, with no client software to install. From version 4.0 it is hosted and managed by VuCore. VuWall announced general availability on 7 October 2026.
What is VuCore?
VuCore is a services platform from VuWall that hosts TRx, PAK Dispatcher, and access to websites, dashboards, remote desktop sessions and files. It comes as a compact VuCore Mini and as 1U rackmount models with redundant power supplies, and several units can be clustered with automatic failover, integrated backup and central monitoring.
Can I upgrade an existing TRx system to 4.0?
VuWall’s announcement does not say. It gives no upgrade terms for existing TRx customers, and no pricing or licensing terms. From version 4.0 TRx is hosted by VuCore, so ask VuWall what that means for your current installation. Enova can put the question to VuWall for your specific installation.
Does TRx 4.0 work with G&D KVM matrices?
Yes. TRx supports G&D ControlCenter-Compact, ControlCenter-Digital, ControlCenter-IP and ControlCenter-IP-XS natively, with detection and routing from the same interface. The announcement describes this as native integration with G&D ControlCenter KVM matrices.
Can I control TRx from Genetec or Milestone?
Yes. VuWall provides plugins for Genetec Security Center and Milestone XProtect that let operators control TRx from the video management system, and cameras can be imported automatically. The TRx datasheet lists the plugin as sold separately, so budget for it.
What are the limits of services hosted on VuCore?
The VuCore datasheet lists TRx, PAK Dispatcher, Chromium for websites, dashboards and PDF files, images in PNG and JPEG, and remote desktop sessions. Audio is not supported for these hosted services, and remote desktop sessions require Windows 10 or newer. Stream capacity varies by model and by whether TRx and PAK Dispatcher run on the same unit, so it should be sized per room.
