Nodegrid OS 6.2.9: Raritan KX III G2 and Server Technology PRO4X join the managed device list

Nodegrid OS 6.2.9 Release: New Device Support
Data centre managers face increasing complexity in managing diverse infrastructure across multiple vendors. Manual control and monitoring of KVM switches and power distribution units (PDUs) creates operational bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities. Unified management platforms are essential for maintaining visibility and control across your entire data centre ecosystem.
Nodegrid OS 6.2.9 expands device compatibility with native support for Raritan KX III G2 KVM switches and Server Technology PRO3X/PRO4X PDUs, enabling centralized discovery and control from a single interface. This release also delivers 22 critical security fixes, ensuring your management infrastructure remains protected against emerging vulnerabilities while streamlining multi-vendor device administration.
Nodegrid OS 6.2.9: Raritan KX III G2 and Server Technology PRO4X join the managed device list
ZPE released Nodegrid OS 6.2.9 on 14 October 2026. Unlike the two maintenance releases before it, it adds device support: discovery of the Raritan KX3-G2 KVM switch, and control of Server Technology PRO3X and PRO4X PDUs. It also carries 22 security fixes.
The 6.2.9 notes list two new features, and both are device support. The rest of the release is security and bug fixes.
What 6.2.9 adds to the device list
Raritan KX III G2 discovery
The release notes read: “Added discovery support for Raritan KX3-G2 KVM switches, enabling port’s KVM sessions.” In practice, Nodegrid can find the switch and open KVM sessions on its ports from the same console that manages the rest of the site.
Raritan launched the Dominion KX III G2 on 15 July 2026, with the first management API and SDK in a Raritan KVM matrix. Raritan’s own G2 documents use the KX3 G2 name, so we read ZPE’s entry as that product. The notes do not give model numbers, which G2 variants are covered, or a minimum KVM firmware.
Server Technology PRO3X and PRO4X outlet control
The second entry adds PRO3X and PRO4X PDU models. Nodegrid gains outlet discovery, outlet status, on, off and cycle control over SNMP and SSH, and SNMP monitoring.
Server Technology and Raritan are both Legrand brands. When Legrand introduced a new generation of intelligent rack PDUs in May 2023, it said they are sold by its brands as the Server Technology PRO4X and the Raritan PX4. A site that standardised on one family and inherited the other can now point one console at both. The notes do not list individual PRO3X or PRO4X variants or a minimum PDU firmware.
Why the pairing matters
Take a hung server. The KVM session shows what the machine is doing, and an outlet cycle is the last resort when it does not answer. With both reachable from Nodegrid, the operator can start either from one console.
The security side of 6.2.9 and 6.0.39
6.2.9, 14 October
- 22 CVEs across six components
- Linux kernel to v6.12.111, seven CVEs
- Firefox-Bin to v155.0.1, nine CVEs
- OpenSSH to v10.5, three CVEs
- rsync v3.5.0, freerdp3 v3.32.0 and OpenSSL v3.0.12, one CVE each
- 13 bug fixes, no known issues listed
6.0.39, 16 October
- 16 security fix entries covering 86 unique CVE IDs
- Firefox-Bin v155.0.1 accounts for 51 of them
- KVM session support for Supermicro 2024 server models, the one enhancement
- 19 bug fixes
- No mention of the KX3-G2 or PRO3X and PRO4X
If part of your estate is still on the 6.0 train, 6.0.39 is the patch release. The new device support is a 6.2 feature. Our earlier note on 6.2.8 covers why a management-plane box needs the same patch discipline as anything else on the network.
Bug fixes in 6.2.9 you may have hit
| High Availability | WebUI session idle timeout now triggers when High Availability is enabled, and a cluster disjoin on the primary node now applies to the secondary too |
| Routing | FRR BGP default routes now install after a clean install and ZTP |
| Certificates | ACME signing settings aligned with RFC 8555 HTTP-01 validation, and revoking or renewing ACME-signed certificates works again |
| Access | Adding an SSH key of the ed25519-256 type no longer produces an error |
What the release notes leave open
| KVM models | The entry says “Raritan KX3-G2” with no model numbers or firmware levels. We read it as the Dominion KX III G2 but ZPE does not say so. |
| PDU variants | PRO3X and PRO4X models are named with no variant list and no minimum PDU firmware. |
| Upgrade floor | Supported from version 4.2.4 and later. Devices on 3.x are Serial Console only, from 3.2.54, and that path erases the /var directory. |
| Rollback constraint | UEFI mode and Secure Boot must be disabled before downgrading to version 5.0 or older. |
Frequently asked questions
What does Nodegrid OS 6.2.9 add?
Nodegrid OS 6.2.9 was released on 14 October 2026. It adds discovery support for Raritan KX3-G2 KVM switches with KVM sessions on their ports, and support for Server Technology PRO3X and PRO4X PDUs with outlet discovery, status, on, off and cycle control over SNMP and SSH, and SNMP monitoring. It also carries 22 security fixes across six components and 13 bug fixes.
Is the Raritan KX3-G2 the same as the Dominion KX III G2?
ZPE’s release notes use the name Raritan KX3-G2 and do not give a full product name or model numbers. Raritan uses KX3 G2 in its own documents for the Dominion KX III G2, so that is the reading we use, but confirm the exact models in your estate before planning a rollout.
Which Server Technology PDUs does Nodegrid 6.2.9 support?
The release notes say PRO3X and PRO4X PDU models. They do not list individual variants or a minimum PDU firmware. Server Technology and Raritan are both Legrand brands, and Legrand introduced the PRO4X and the Raritan PX4 together in May 2023.
Does Nodegrid OS 6.0.39 include the new device support?
The 6.0.39 release notes, published 16 October 2026, do not mention the KX3-G2 or the PRO3X and PRO4X. They list one enhancement, KVM session support for Supermicro 2024 server models, 16 security fix entries covering 86 unique CVE IDs, and 19 bug fixes.
How do I upgrade to Nodegrid OS 6.2.9?
ZPE supports upgrades from the web interface, the CLI, USB, network boot and ZPE Cloud. Upgrades are supported from version 4.2.4 and later. UEFI mode and Secure Boot have to be disabled before downgrading to version 5.0 or older, so confirm the rollback path before you start.
